Park walks and a recap on Easter

Friends in the north, I’m apologizing in advance for the warm pictures. If it’s any consolation, the humidity has hit and there is no hiding the sweat.

WHAT A WEEK! Am I right, or am I right? I hope you all had a lovely Easter spent with loved ones, good food, and long lasting memories.

We spent the holiday hunting for eggs, going to a memorable church service (those in the area- if you haven’t gone to a service at Momentum, contact me so we can go together!), feasting with great friends, going to the beach while the littles had their first real swim on the season, and later on had an impromptu moms night out (nope, definitely not sharing pictures from that (; )

Overall, we had such a fun Easter. It is a complete game changer when you spend the holidays with an awesome and absolutely adorable toddler, good friends, delicious food, and nice weather. We are so fortunate to have met the people we have met, and to be where we are now. In other news, Aspen and I are finally settling into a routine since Scott’s departure. This is helping so much with mine and Aspen’s sanity.

We spend our days literally working or playing. When we’re not at mamas work, we are at the beach, at a friends house, or at home playing with blocks and coloring. We wake up around 6am, eat a healthy breakfast, spend a few hours at work, go home to cuddle and/or take a nap, clean up the house, run errands, spend time outside, then come home to dinner and a movie before getting ready for bed. These are the good days, and i’m trying to soak them in. We won’t be here forever. We will move (eventually, hopefully), Aspen will grow, our friends will continue on, and our current will become past, and our adventures will become memories. This is a reminder to myself, as well as all who may read this- love your moments. Even the unbearable ones. Someday they will only be pictures in our heads of what life used to be like. So cherish them, hold them for another moment longer, and release them with a smile of content on your face.

THANK YOU again to Pink Blush Maternity for collaborating on this post. Guys, If you have not checked out their motherhood line, you are missing out. This dress can be found here .

As a side note, that hat was gifted by my grandma after she decided it wasn’t to her linking anymore. It’s now one of my favorite accessories. Somehow handed down “vintage” items are always my favorites.

Christmas party look

This Friday, Scott’s squadron had their Christmas party. I love Christmas parties because it’s the perfect excuse to dress up the whole family. Here’s what Aspen and I wore:

It’s always so hard finding something that is work party appropriate. Every year I struggle to find something that’s not scandelous, but also doesn’t make me look Amish. This year, I was very pleased to find this flowy skirt to pair with a nice flannel, which also allowed Scott and I to match, and have Aspen coordinate with us.

Winter beach days

I have been living on the emerald coast for nearly five years now. The first winter we were here it was FREEZING. Literally freezing. At one point, they blocked off all the bridges and let kids sled down them. Although there was no snow, there was plenty of ice. Since then, our winters have been very moderate, with only a handful of cold days. But a majority of the time the weather is nice enough to still enjoy our beautiful beaches. 12-IMG_035010-IMG_0343

My favorite winter beach attire is a neutral and flowy maxi with a light cardi or jean jacket.  To shop these looks:

Thanksgiving outfit Part 3

As promised, park three to our Thanksgiving outfit ideas is here. The purpose of this series was to prove that you don’t have to necessarily go out and purchase a whole new wardrobe for the holidays. You can recreate very similar looks with items you already have in your closet. And if you do not have anything in your closet that can be worked into these basic outfit ideas, I have linked very afforable and convenient shops to shop from. Two of my most reliable last minute clothing stores is always Old Navy, Target, and Charolette Ruse because of how afforable and near by they are. Have fun shopping my Thanksgiving Feast looks!

when you give your husband the camera…

Notice how the focus is a bit off?

I guess I’ll give him credit for the effort, but looks like I’m going to have to give him a DSLR basics lesson.

But anyway, today is Friday the 13th, and I had plans on dressing Aspen and I in all black, but then I realized the only black I had was formal wear. So I opted out for another transitional outfit. Now both my skirt and sweater is from Banana Republic, but they’re both about three years old, so I’ll try to find some similar ones and link them below.

Christmas party attire

img_6658img_6666

There are only a few occasions throughout the year that it is 100% justified to splurge on your looks. Your spouses squadron’s Christmas party is one of them.

Last year I was so pregnant and large, that I refused to even dress up for the party. So this year I had to make up for it. This was also my first time having a professional do my hair and makeup (and it is SO worth it you guys!). Thanks to Morgan Nichols I felt like a princess.

The night was an over all success. Aspen was happily content in the childcare room for 3 hours, giving Scott and I much needed time to ourselves. We had so much fun visiting with our friends, drinking old fashioned coctails, and eating delicious food. The games played were absolutely hilarious, and although we didn’t win anything this year, the prizes were ON POINT (thanks to my husband, who was on the committee). I seriously love this time of year, and the fun events it brings to us.

Mommy and me DIY outfit

I am that nerdy mom that loves to match my kid. I mean, I know it’s really silly and tacky, but I can’t help it.

Can someone please tell my child to stop growing and cuddle me? I feel like she is ALWAYS on the move these days.

fresh air and coffee

Aspen and I had a fun day meeting my co worker in the florida woods, exploring little creeks and walking around while breathing in the fresh air.

I am so fortunate to be raising a child who loves exploring outside. Honestly though, the way she looks at the trees is incredible. You’ve never truly seen a sparkle in an eye until you’ve seen this child look up at the sky (hey, that rhymed!)
